Destiny Watson is a social activist, entrepreneur, and inspirational leader from the South Suburbs of Chicago. She has been involved in the nonprofit sector for 8 years, making an impact through her organization You Matter 2 that she founded at the young age of 16, initially with the goal to get her peers involved in service. After her club success as a teenager, Magic Johnson offered her a full-ride scholarship to any college of her choice. Destiny has since received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Rights Studies and a Minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Dayton, as well as a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University.
In addition to her success, she was awarded and named Dayton’s 2022 10 under 10 alumni and WDB Marketing’s 2022 Young Entrepreneur of the Year. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Destiny aims to bring awareness to the social injustices that plague her community and expose her peers to opportunities and experiences beyond what they’re used to.
Destiny is working hard to provide resources and support to families in South Suburbs, from organizing the largest Chicago Southland Juneteenth Celebration to inspiring youth to become leaders and make a positive impact in their communities. Her commitment and hard work have led her to become a source of inspiration and a source of investment for others.
