Summary
The Community Service Coordinator Volunteer assists You Matter 2 in the planning, coordination, and implementation of community-wide, monthly Service Saturday activities and general service opportunities for You Matter 2 youth and/of the community.

Time Commitment
You Matter 2 requests that volunteers commit to at least 1, 2-4 hours shift weekly, for 6 months. Volunteers are allowed full flexibility in scheduling shifts. You Matter 2 fully recognizes that burnout is a real issue in today’s world and in this line of work. We encourage volunteers to take time off as needed for self-care.

The Community Service Coordinator Volunteer assists You Matter 2 in the planning, coordination, and implementation of community-wide, monthly Service Saturday activities and general service opportunities for You Matter 2 youth and/of the community.
Training & Supervision
- Attends general volunteer orientation
- Complete training on the Database Tutorial
- Training and supervision conducted by: Destiny Watson or other designated trainer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Seek out partners and beneficiaries for service projects
- Make phone calls and send emails to partners
- Track attendance and impact of service projects
- Data entry
- Coordinate service opportunities for community and You Matter 2 members
- Maintain open lines of communication with community agencies regarding their ongoing/evolving needs and possible opportunities for service
- Work with our Youth Advisory Council to plan and execute our MLK Day of Service project(s)
- Assist with the logistics of registration, check-in, set up, and takedown of service events or projects
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Complete a background check
- Community service experience (leadership capabilities, organized, ability to manage projects)
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of You Matter 2 volunteered, partners, and donors
- Sensitivity to, and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Willingness to volunteer at times when students and community members are available, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public
- Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented
