Application Submission: January 1st-January 14th
Notification of Acceptance: Monday, January 17th
Informational:
Saturday, January 22nd
Court Activities: February 5th, February 12th, February 19th
Voting & Fundraising: March 1st - March 31st
Winning Photo Shoot: Saturday, April 23rd

Only 3 contestants will be accepted per ranking.

Eligibility & Participation Requirements:
Picture
  • Must be in K-12th Grade in the Homewood-Flossmoor area (towns in District 153, 161, 233)
  • Entry Fee (to be collected after acceptance into contest) | Includes: Juneteenth T-shirt and Professional Headshot with Juneteenth Frame 
    • Kindergarten-5th Grade: $35
    • 6th-12th Grade: $50
  • Video Submission
    • Wear something that represents Black Girl Magic or Black Boy Joy
    • Kindergarten - 5th Grade
      • 2 minute maximum
      • Name, Age, Grade, School, Position you're competing for & Hobby or Special Talent
      • 3rd-5th Only: What does Juneteenth mean to you?
    • 6th Grade - 12th Grade
      • ​3 minutes maximum
      • Name, Age, Grade, School, Position you're competing for, What does Juneteenth mean to you?
      • Choose 1 question below to answer:
        • ​Juneteenth should be very important to the African American community however, it is often overlooked because it is not a national holiday. How can you help young people learn about Juneteenth so they can become aware of the importance of it ?
        • Thinking about your future, what is your dream career? The path you chose, will you be able to help those in the African American community, if so, how?
