Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2nd Annual Homewood-Flossmoor Juneteenth Festival! Volunteers are a critical competent of any event and we are happy to have your help! There will be many volunteer opportunities available before and during the festival. Please read the volunteer roles below before completing the volunteer application.

Entrance team
Scan tickets and ensure that everyone gets through the entrance in a timely manner. Entrance volunteers need to be cool-headed and able to communicate effectively to attendees if there is a problem.
Homewood farmer's market
Sale Juneteenth merchandise and spread the word about the festival.
Juneteenth Signage Volunteer
Assist with making signs and posting window signs, yard signs, and flyers around the town.
Lost and Found
Responsible for receiving lost items or children, getting the details to the emcee to announce, and making sure things are returned to its rightful owner or children returned to their parent/guardian.
Parade volunteer
Parade volunteers are responsible for ensuring that all parade participants are lined up, checked in, and prepared to walk the route. Volunteers will walk in the parade to ensure the safety and pace of parade participants.
Parking Team
Direct traffic and assist with parking. These volunteers should ensure that the parking facility is used in the most efficient and safest way possible.
Photographer/Videographer
Photographer/videographer volunteers will document and capture the entire event and share the images through our social media channels.
Registration
Register the attendees who show up without tickets. These volunteers should know the various artists and attractions offered at the event so they are prepared to answer questions while registering attendees.
Runner/Floater
Fill in the gaps or even take over a role for a no-show volunteer. This team will help make the event a success by ensuring that when an issue arises, they are ready to deal with it quickly.
Sanitation Team
Make sure heavily used equipment (photo booth, tables, games) are wiped down in between each use.
Set Up
Help set up tents, tables, chairs, concession stands, and more. Should be physically fit and able to put things together.
Sponsor solicitor
Call or go to businesses to try to secure a sponsorship for the Juneteenth Festival.
Sponsorship Team Volunteer
Prepare mailing box with all appropriate deliverables for specific sponsorship package; i.e. T-shirts, yard signs. window signs, parking passes, etc.
Stagehand
Help backstage and provide the artist with everything they need. Stagehand volunteers can assist with everything from tech and stage set-up, and making sure the schedule of entertainment is being followed, to running errands required to make the show go off without a hitch
Usher/information team
Help attendees find what they are looking for.
Vendor solicitor
Research and call vendors to inform them about the festival and provide needed information to get signed up as a vendor for the festival.
Volunteer captain
Recruit, train and communicate the roles and responsibilities of the a specific volunteer role. These volunteers are strong, and enthusiastic leaders who work closely with the staff & Volunteer Coordinator.
